Safer Youth Response Service (SYRS)
Police-referred early-intervention support for children under 14 at risk of entering the youth justice system.
Safer Youth Response Service (SYRS) is a Marymead CatholicCare partnership with ACT Policing and the ACT Government that provides specialist, flexible support to children under 14 who are exhibiting risky or harmful behaviour and are at risk of contact with the youth justice system. Using a strength-based, family-centred approach, SYRS works to divert children away from the justice system while prioritising their physical, emotional and cultural safety. Referrals into the service are managed by ACT Policing.
