Terms of Use
Last updated 14 July 2026
These terms apply when you use Connect (connectact.org.au), a directory of services for young people published by the Youth Coalition of the ACT ("YC", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
In an emergency
Connect is a directory, not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800.
What Connect is
Connect lists services run by other organisations. We don't provide these services ourselves. Every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live, and we do our best to keep details accurate and current, but we can't guarantee that every phone number, address or program detail is up to date at any given moment. If something looks wrong, please let us know or use "Suggest a change" on the listing.
Being listed on Connect isn't an endorsement of a service's quality, and removal from Connect isn't a judgement on it either; services come and go, and listings can become outdated between reviews.
Submitting a listing or a correction
When you submit a new listing or suggest a change, you confirm that:
- the information you're providing is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you have the right to share it (for example, because you work at the service, or the information is publicly available); and
- you're not submitting anything false, misleading, defamatory, or intended to spam or disrupt the directory.
Submitting content gives YC permission to review, edit, publish and update it as part of the directory. We may decline to publish, or may edit for clarity, accuracy or consistency with the rest of the directory. Contact details you give us as the submitter (as opposed to the service's own public contact details) are kept private; see our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Please don't use Connect to:
- submit false, harmful or malicious content;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems;
- scrape or bulk-extract the directory's content for a purpose unrelated to finding services for young people; or
- use the "Suggest a change" or "Add a listing" forms for anything other than their intended purpose.
Third-party links
Listings link out to other organisations' own websites, phone numbers and services. Once you leave Connect, that organisation's own terms and privacy practices apply. We aren't responsible for the content, accuracy or conduct of external sites or services.
Content and ownership
The Connect name, design and site code belong to the Youth Coalition of the ACT. Listing content is a mix of information provided by the services themselves, public sources, and community submissions, reviewed by our team.
No warranty, limitation of liability
Connect is provided as a free community service, on an "as is" basis, without warranties of any kind as to its accuracy, completeness or availability. To the extent permitted by law, YC isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on information in it; nothing in these terms excludes any right or protection you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms, the site, or the services it lists at any time. Continuing to use Connect after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
