Oasis Youth Housing and Support Program (Salvation Army)
The Salvation Army's specialist homelessness service for young people aged 15–24 in the ACT — crisis, transitional and longer-term accommodation, plus private rental assistance, all with case management support.
Oasis Youth Housing and Support Program is The Salvation Army's specialist homelessness service, providing accommodation options for young people aged 15 to 24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the ACT.
There are three accommodation pathways: crisis accommodation, transitional (medium-term) accommodation, and educational tiered housing for longer stays.
The Youth Private Rental Assistance Program (YPRAP) is a further option for young people who are working and ready to access the open rental market, with case management support and rental subsidies for 12 months.
Support includes case management, mental health support, family restorative therapy, child and family case management, alcohol and other drug case management, and living-skills programs, along with recreation programs and the opportunity to take part in the Youth Advisory Panel (YAP).
There is no charge while a young person has no income. Once they do, rent is income-based — except in crisis accommodation, where a flat rate of $70 a week is charged.
Referrals for accommodation are made through FIRST Canberra (previously One Link) on 1800 176 468 during business hours.
